The Alliance Continues.
Alliance Truck Parts are pleased to announce naming rights sponsorship of Andrew Jones in the #8 VF Commodore for the 2016 Dunlop Series Championship.
The Alliance Truck Parts Commodore driven by Andrew Jones at Bathurst and Homebush in the final rounds of the 2015 Dunlop Series Championship was not missed by race fans. The standout livery attracted a lot of attention as it clearly stood out in the large and rivalrous field of cars.
The 2016 Dunlop Series will be faster and competitive as ever, as the series are now able to run the next gen chassis; the same chassis currently run in the V8 Supercar Series. Andrew’s VE Commodore as raced in previous seasons now moves to the Kuhmo V8 Touring Car series, whilst Jason Bright’s VF Commodore from the 2014/15 V8 Supercar season has found a new home with Andrew Jones.
The shuffling of cars was an easy decision given that Andrew has been Jason Bright’s co-driver in this car for the previous two V8 Supercar Endurance seasons. Most people will know the car as ‘Brodie’ – the car built in less than a week after Jason had a spectacular crash at the Clipsal 500 season opener in 2014.
In terms of experience, it is safe to say that Andrew has the upper hand on the field and is looking to have another solid season in the championship. He finished 7th in the 2015 series, despite missing the Townsville round and not being able to claim any points.
Andrew: ‘We had brilliant feedback about this car when it debuted last year. I was getting comments from Alliance Truck Parts staff and customers alike; not only here in Australia but from NZ and the US which was awesome. The car stood out and the response we received proved that.’
‘Going into 2016 with the new gen car I know we are going to be super competitive. I’ve got some good experience with the car I’ll be racing this year, so to have those extra laps in the car already is really advantageous.’
‘As always the competition in the Dunlop Series will be fierce; there are a lot of good drivers in the field. I am eager to get back in the seat and race again, so the first round in Adelaide can’t come soon enough. I look forward to getting the Alliance Truck Parts Commodore at the front of the field and keeping it there throughout the year.”
